Mite/Mini-Mite & 8U Team Pages

Welcome - Introduction

Welcome everyone to the Buffalo Youth Hockey Association Mite/8U Page! We are so excited to start the 2024-2025 season and hope to have a lot of FUN! Here is a quick run down of what you need to know on the website/sports engine!

This is the main page to find out information about the Mite/8U Program.  Links to the Parent and Coach Mite Handbook, Mite Contact information, Initial evaluation groups and FAQ's.

Group Pages: After registration closes, your skater is put into an initial placement group (primarily broken out by birthday and a few moves based on the number of people in each group to try to keep them even), after placement sessions, your skater may move groups depending on a few factors, birthday, grade level, and skill level. That group will be your skating group and the Group Page will be where you will find information on what is happening or unique events for the group. (Example:  Rink Rat info, 10000 Puck club etc).

Team Pages: After Placement sessions, your skater is given a team so we can have scrimmages against each other (all mites/8u) or other teams in the district (for older mites/8u). The team pages are managed by your manager. If you have any questions reach out to them!

We hope all the skaters have a wonderful and fun filled hockey season and we hope the parents have a great experience as well. In order for your experience to go well, please do not hesitate to reach out to the Mite Coordinators with any questions you have.  We want to provide clarity and guidance to you and your skater in hopes to continue seeing you year after year and prepping you for Squirts/10U traveling team! The association has been around along time and with that sometimes we forget to communicate and assume people know what is going on. So PLEASE, help us remember that and streamline our communication!

If you haven't already, download the Sports Engine App on your phone and search for your child's group or check out the group pages for calendar/schedule info. If you run into problems, please reach out!

See you at the Rink!
