Game Sheet iPad Training

Here is a training video on how to use the new GameSheet ipad scoring system.


2023-2024 BYHA Volunteer Policy

All other pre-dated policies are void and invalid

BYHA Volunteer System

We are utilizing the DIBS system to manage our volunteer opportunities.

1.  Click on the DIBS tab on the far right of the navigation bar (just below the Buffalo Hockey banner).

2.  Login with the same USER ID and password used to register your player(s).

3.  Click into the Dib Session 2023-24

4. Search for Dibs with "unclaimed" status. Click on the name of the Dib, then "Claim this Dib Item."

5. Verify that the box with athlete name is correct, and the fulfiller's first and last name is correct to ensure credit is applied appropriately. Enter phone number and/or email for person fulfilling Dib (parent or guardian). Click "Claim Dib Item."

6. You will receive an email confirmation, if email address is on file and claim is successful.

7. You will receive a reminder email 3-4 days prior to your claimed dib. ****Any dib MUST be cancelled PRIOR to 72 hours to avoid a late penalty fee. (refer to policy for more details).

8. Please allow  at least 72 hours for Volunteer Coordinators to mark your Dib Session Complete.  

Monitoring Claimed Items and Progress

Click on "My Dibs" to see your progress and monitor the number of completed, claimed, and needed hours. 

Once logged in to Dibs, you will find the  "My Dibs" link under your name at the top of the window, beneath 'Buffalo Youth Hockey Association Dib Sessions.'
 

Background Screening for Volunteer Positions

All coaches, referees, board members, team managers, Locker Room Monitors, parent volunteers (e.g. traveling teams) are required to consent to a background check every other year. 

Go to the MN Hockey Background Screening website to complete your background check. THERE IS A FEE FOR BACKGROUND SCREENING AS OF 2019-2020 SEASON DUE TO THE COST OF EXPANDED SCREENING. Starting 2020-2021, the cost is $40

***You must have an USA Hockey Number to start the background screening process.  To obtain your number, go the the USA Hockey Online Registration

2023-2024 Volunteer Requirements

Mite/Travel level families with one skater must contribute 15 hours of volunteer time. Families with two or more skaters must contribute 20 hours of volunteer time. If you are only a mini mite family, you will be required to contribute 5 hours of volunteer time.  New for this season, we have gotten rid of standard hours or tournament hours - we now just have volunteer hours!

Families must meet their total hour requirement before the end of the regular season.

There is no maximum number of hours a family can contribute in a given year. There is no roll-over of volunteer hours from year to year.
